Excerpt from “Gameplan”

Have you ever made a mistake just because you were operating on a faulty premise? Hell does that, too. Turns out God is very unpredictable….. ; )

“It doesn’t have to make sense to us. I’ve been studying Him, trying to get a grip on His methods, and I really think, when the end comes, He’s going to try to save as many as He can, even if it means abandoning large blocks of people.”

“So, what does that look like?”

She pauses, looks up at some point above him, and talks through her thoughts slowly. “Well, for one thing, it’s unlikely that there would be a massing of His forces—certainly nothing that would be easy for us to detect.”

He just shakes his head, confused. “Okay. Whatever. What good would that do Him?”

“His angels go to protect the people who need guarding—and not from pain or death. From doubt and crises of faith.”

“So He’s okay with us taking the lives of His people, dominating the spaces that we occupy and having control, as long as His people don’t, what?, think they’re losing?”

She smiles a patient smile at him, then “A lost life of one of His people is a soul happy in Heaven. All they have to do is maintain their faith through the process and He saves them—brings them home.”

The Administrator pauses to consider this information, so counter-intuitive to his way of thinking.
